About Jenni Rauch

Jenni Rauch gained her first degree in Business Studies from Thames Polytechnic (now the University of Greenwich) back in the mists of time. She worked in educational administration in the UK before going to Laos in 1990 as a United Nations Volunteer. She spent the next 8 years in Laos, working first in the UNDP Country Office and then with the Mines Advisory Group and the Lao Unexploded Ordnance Removal Programme (UXOLAO), before taking up a post as a Mine Action Specialist at UNDP in New York. In 2001, she returned to the UK to join Cranfield Mine Action at Cranfield University. She returned to full-time study in 2005, gaining an MA in Human Resource Development from the University of Manchester’s Institute for Development Policy and Management. She joined the Department of East Asian Studies at Leeds in March 2007 as the Administrative Officer for the White Rose East Asia Centre [http://www.wreac.org].
